Head’s up! The following review contains spoilers for Sailor Moon Crystal episodes 1-13.

The following review contains some spoilers for the anime Madoka Magica. Spoilers pertain mostly to characters Kyoko Sakura and Sayaka Miki and all major spoilers are limited to episodes 1-9.

A couple of weeks ago a friend and I were watching anime on Netflix when she decided to introduce me to a short 12-episode series by the name of Puella Magi Madoka MagicaDo not let all the pink and cutesy-ness fool you: this is one of the craziest, darkest, most unexpected twists on the magical girl storyline I have ever seen. It’s an amazing, absolutely addicting anime that delivers more shock, action, heart-wrenching, and heart-warming moments in twelve 24-minute long episodes than most shows achieve in 3 seasons.

Everyday Jpop Fashion: 6 Sailor Moon Inspired Looks

In honor of the release of the preview for the brand new, upcoming anime Sailor Moon Crystal, a preview of which was just released, here are 6 outfits and accessories I created that were inspired by the costumes of the Sailor Scouts in the original 90’s anime I grew up watching. I’ve included these as part of the Everyday Jpop series because while ‘Jpop’ usually refers to Japanese pop music, it’s really just an abbreviation for any element of Japanese pop culture, of which Sailor Moon is definitely a big part.

Attack on Titan English Dub Initial Thoughts

Anime/Manga

This week’s TV Tuesday review will be short and sweet. I’ll also keep it spoiler-free since I know that many people might be watching Attack on Titan for the first time right now as the first season is still in the process of airing in English. And that’s what I’ll be talking about today: the English dub of the breakout anime Attack on Titan.

Many people (including myself) have already watched the original Japanese version of the show with English subtitles, especially since the entire first season (25 episodes) have been available on Netflix since 2013, but the English version just started airing here in America on Adult Swim last month. Usually, I wouldn’t even give an English dub a chance, but since it’s FUNimation dubbing AOT and I was highly impressed with their dub of Fullmetal Alchemist, I decided I’d give this one a chance with the first 2 episodes. Here are my thoughts.

Fullmetal Alchemist: a favorite manga and an awesome anime (Spoiler Free)

Anime/Manga

Fullmetal+Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa reaches new heights in the world of manga and anime by blending humor and reflection, action, physical and spiritual journey, character depth, romance, and girl power better than any graphic novel I have ever read. This story is steampunk/alternate-universe at its best.
