After reading The Giver Quartet, I decided to watch the 2014 film adaptation. The movie has received mixed reviews and I agree with the average rating of 6.5/10 (according to Amazon) (3.5/5 on Rotten Tomatoes). It’s a middle-of-the-road score for a movie that is neither horrible, nor especially impressive or memorable.
We’re just a few hours out from the New Year here in Nashville, so before 2015 hits, I’m bidding 2014 farewell with some of my favorite albums of the year.
This year saw me branching out a bit musically. While I wasn’t nearly as impressed with Kpop in general this year as in past years, there were still some really great albums from some of my favorite groups and artists. I also started listening to quite a bit more western pop and found several western- U.K. in particular- artists I enjoy listening to.
As with past years, 2014 has seen the debut of several new Kpop groups. Many boy groups failed to hold my attention this year, but there are a few rookies I feel are definitely worth keeping an eye on.
December is here. For Kpop fans that means end-of-year award shows, holiday special stages, and megamixes are just around the corner. As we count down to the last days of 2014, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Kpop debuts, songs, comebacks, and collaborations of the year. Today we look at some of the best rookie girl groups of the year.
In some ways, the Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival is a small-scale successor to the TN Centennial and International Exposition that created the park and Parthenon over 100 years ago.
Last Saturday Qing Qing and I spent the day at Nashville’s Centennial Park where the annual Cultural Festival is held. We also took the opportunity to visit the Parthenon for free.
Last night was the debut of Gotham on Fox as well as the season premiere of The Big Bang Theory and another new episode of Dancing with the Stars. As all 3 shows came on at 7 Central, my family had a fight over which we would watch and which we would DVR. Gotham won. I’ll talk briefly about DWTS and Big Bang as I want to focus the majority of this post on the long-awaited Gotham Episode 1.
First off, sorry for the lack of updates last week. I fell ill with a cold that lasted 5 days and I’m just now feeling normal again.
There have been too many Kpop comebacks these last few weeks for me to cover them all individually, so today I’ll be covering several of the biggest comebacks and debuts. Ladies first.
A couple of weeks ago I talked about several recent Kpop comebacks, including Sistar’s “Touch My Body.” Today I’ll be taking a closer look at their new mini album “Touch & Move.”
School is starting for many students in the US which means summer is drawing to a close. I thought I’d share some of my summer adventures today through my favorite pictures from the last few months.
Kpop girl group Secret have just released the music video their 2014 comeback song “I’m in Love.”
I am so happy with this comeback! This is the classy, sexy Secret I’ve been missing since “Talk That.” This song falls in line with my other favorite Secret songs “Madonna,” “Love is MOVE,” and “Poison” as a jazzy, catchy song with awesome vocals, complimentary choreography, and the sexy concept done in a powerful and classy way.
The girls have also released their 5th mini album “Secret Summer.” Below are my thoughts as written when listening to the mini album for the first time.
